Floors Etc. follows installation guidelines from the carpet manufacturer and/or those set forth in the CRI Installation Standard.
Carpet must be power-stretched for proper installation to minimize wrinkling and rippling.
Seam edges must be sealed with an appropriate adhesive to prevent delamination and edge ravel.
Although Floors Etc. tries to minimize the number of seams and joins used, they are unavoidable in large rooms, angled areas and in doorways between rooms.
Seams will be placed in less visible areas – even so, please don’t expect seams to be invisible.
Floors Etc. avoids head seams when at all possible – this process ensures the fewest number of seams and the most subtle placement of seams possible.
Time: Can take 1 to several days, depending on square footage, room layout, and the amount of prep required.
Provides a smooth base for the floor.
Can act as a moisture barrier.
If subfloor moisture levels are too high, Floors Etc. will make a determination on how best to address situation (e.g.: moisture resistant epoxy, etc.)
Limits noise and adds insulation.
If sound barrier is required (especially in high-rises), Floors Etc. will meet with Building Engineer to ensure compliance with HOA requirements
Cushioned materials such as foam and cork are ideal beneath floating floors.
Vinyl- and plastic-lined underlayments are best in moisture-prone areas.
No floor is complete without those special final touches. Floors Etc. makes sure that your floor has just the right moldings to give your room a finished look. Moldings are custom stained to match your hardwood floor or can be primed for paint by your professional painters. Floors Etc. installs these details as required on all jobs, unless otherwise indicated on your custom proposal.
