Our History…Yesterday and Today
Founded in 1992 by Sandra Burnett, Floors Etc. was not planned, but, as some would say, it was meant to be. Quite simply, Sandra was looking for the perfect flooring company to care for beautiful solid hardwood floors, and, when her search proved more difficult than it should have been, she created a business opportunity.
Sandra searched for months for the just right hardwood floor expert for her home in Tanglewood – and then she met Danny Krienke, a talented flooring craftsman and artisan with a lifetime of hands-on experience, well-respected for his craft throughout the city. Being a smart businesswoman with a personal passion for interiors and high-end design, Sandra knew that meeting Danny was a fantastic business opportunity extending far beyond the scope of her floors. Floors Etc. – or Floors Etcetera, Inc. as it was originally called – was soon established – gifting Houston with an unparalleled flooring resource – and over time the ETC would set this new company apart from the others with these 3 important concepts: Experienced. Trusted. Craftsmanship.
To maintain Floors Etc’s ongoing excellence, Sandra’s daughter, Tracy Burnett, is now closely involved in business and has been since 2018. Tracy brings to the table what she has learned over the years from her mom and other flooring experts, while bringing new perspectives from her own experiences from many years of executive leadership, marketing, and sales all combined with her design education.
Today, Sandra & Tracy lead the Team together, making our company strong by remaining focused on the Floors Etc. mission Sandra set at the very beginning of her journey:

This means meeting new clients; managing the showroom; having the right materials available; keeping up with the latest industry trends and styles; keeping their crews on task and the business office running smoothly; and all the other etcs.

Our craftsmen have 10-30+ years of experience in their particular trade whether it is installation of a particular flooring type or the finishing of a wood floor. Of note, we provide opportunities and encourage attendance in a variety of classes and workshops to utilize the latest tools and technology.
Marcial Ocon is our Superintendent and has worked for Floors Etc. for 25+ years. He spent his 1st phase of work with us in the field, installing, sanding, and refinishing. We were very pleased to promote him into his leadership position in January 2023. His excellence in craftsmanship paired with his knowledge and understanding of the industry along with his sincere dedication to flooring work, our Clients, and our Team make him the perfect person to lead our crews.”
