Quick Floors Etc. Overview
Quick Floors Etc. Overview
For homeowners desiring classic solid hardwood floors, the biggest question today is which product to use—the traditional solid floor which is installed, sanded and finished on-site, OR prefinished solid wood? There are advantages to both, a simpler, shorter, and cleaner installation process being one of the biggest for prefinished solid wood. Prefinished solid wood flooring comes ready to install and requires no sanding or finishing—causing less disruption in your home. The technological advances allow this product to produce the same great beauty of classic hardwood, but with a much stronger finish. Floors Etc. only uses prefinished wood of the highest caliber to protect your investment.

Quick Floors Etc. Overview
Quick Floors Etc. Overview
Engineered Hardwood Flooring is real hardwood—the word “engineered” just refers to the way these beautiful floors are made. Engineered hardwood flooring is everything people love about traditional hardwood, without the disadvantages – the added strength of its factory-installed finish making it around 300% harder than traditional hardwoods, and its multi-directional core make it more stable. The result is a floor that wears better in high traffic areas and can stand up to installation in places like kitchens. Engineered Hardwood also comes in a variety of wood species and finishes, offering our clients nearly limitless design options.

How It's Made
How It's Made
Engineered wood is constructed of several layers, or plies that are glued together in a cross-grain construction, making it more structurally sound and dimensionally stable than solid hardwood. The top layer is made of real wood—in a species of the customer’s choice. The core layer consists of thin, stacked high-density boards. This stacking design defends against the effects of humidity and temperature, allowing each board to naturally expand and contract so it is less likely to buckle, gap, cup. or warp.

“There’s a certain poetry in taking vintage wood and recycling it into gorgeous new floors,. When Floors Etc. shops for reclaimed wood we are meticulous. We inspect each board to make sure it has enough life in it to take another sanding and staining. And, when repairing floors in existing older homes, we find wood of the same age and species to achieve a perfect match. New wood would look and stain differently.”

Quick Floors Etc. Overview
Quick Floors Etc. Overview
At Floors Etc., we love all trees. But there’s nothing like the character, aged patina and unique strength of antique or reclaimed wood. Reclaimed wood is simply the most environmentally conscious choice possible. And it creates floors that embody a true “WOW” factor. Old growth trees cut down over a hundred years ago offer superior stability, weathered grace and an intense grain not available in lumber manufactured today. Chronicled history—like ferrous staining, bolt holes, and timeworn distressing—adds beautiful character.
